The Johnson Family Re-union at Ward Hall Plantation 2005
Descendents from Vice President, Richard M. Johnson and his siblings, and the descendents of the slaves from their plantations attended a two day reunion in Georgetown, Kentucky. Several former slaves from the Johnson plantation settled at Nicodemus. Tom Wellington, Teresa Switzer, Johnine Powell, Terry Jukes, Frankie Young and daughter, and Angela Bates, all descendents of the Johnson family (Tom Johnson, father of Emma Williams) were in attendance. Angela gave the history of the Nicodemus connection to the family.

Historian and Author - Ann Bevins
Ann Bevins, historian and author of Scott County (Georgetown) history was the first to be contacted in the early 1990s when research was begun on the connection with Nicodemus settlers from Scott county, Kentucky. Ann finally visited Nicodemus in the summer of 2006. She is pictured here near the dugout west of Stockton used by Nicodemus settlers.
